My friend is in desperate need of a car; nothing special, nothing fancy, and certainly doesn’t need to be new. Does anyone know any place or website to go to that offers good prices for nice, used cars?

You’re much better off shopping around in your area, for a car you can go and see, and have your mechanic check it out before you buy it, even if you are only spending a couple of thousand dollars – ESPECIALLY if you can only afford a couple of thousand dollars. And I wouldn’t buy a used car online, period.

What exactly are you in need of? If it is smaller stuff, Join www.vwvortex.com and check out UndergroundVWparts, they are a huge yard in FL that specializes in MKIII and MKIV VW parts. You have a MKIV if you were wondering…They are pretty easy to deal with and get stuff to you quick too. They do most of their business through IM’s on the Vortex, and take Paypal. IM them what you need, and they will respond back with a yes or no and a price.
