Does mud left on cars damage cars?

I drive in a lot of muddy terrain, and I usually leave the mud on the car, as it’s too much of a hassle to clean it everytime. Is this bad for the car? what damages would it cause?

you see, mud gets all over your undercarriage. so everything gets muddy, and can disrupt things that have to happen, what happens when your driveline is covered in mud????? stuff like that

Well I dont think mud will hurt the body, but It will clog up some stuff under it. But as far as the body, there some mud that’s just a pain to get off, but thats it

I can answer your question in two parts. Leaving mud on your car is not good be cause when the mud dries on the outside it allows the moisture to stay on the vehicle longer therefore increasing the risk for rust to form. Also leaving mud in your wheels can cause your tires to become out of balance. Also, excess mud in the wheels can break you valve stem off leaving you with a flat tire.
